THE AMAZING JENNIFER MCGUIRE, 3D BACKGROUNDS GALORE!

If you saw Jennifer McGuire's post recently here maybe you were as inspired as I was to try faux dimensional stamping.  Well I loved it! It was like magic and I couldn't stop myself and I made a bunch and then I made more and then I made two scenic ones.  This has never happened to me before, maybe I need an intervention. These were all made using stencils, distress inks on Neenah 110lb cardstock. Only one is made into a card  but my plan is to add a die cut sentiment on top and maybe some embellies as needed.  The scenic ones I have plans for as soon as I can manage some coloring time.  Tell me what you think, I would love to hear from you.

For some reason I could not capture the depth of color on this card and it is so beautiful in person.

I thought this was a good idea but really for this technique to work you need an overall design

5 MINUTE QUICKIE COLORING FOR 30 DAY COLORING CHALLENGE #ATTHEDAILYMARKER30DAY

I was sending my sister a check and I always like to put it in a cute card but I really only had about 7 minutes so I quick stamped and colored this one layer card.  Used HERO ARTS OWH LIL HOOT and Copics.  Sentiment not a great stamping job but I was really rushing and I know she won't care.

ANOTHER PINE BOUGH CARD

I used the same technique as I used on this card but I used Black Soot, Concord Grape, Chipped Sapphire and a little Seedless Preserves distress inks.  The die was cut from some very sparkly, peel and stick Kodak paper that I had in my stash for ages.

DISTRESS RESIST PINE BOUGH CARD

I started by stamping and embossing the pine bough in silver and then white.  I then used distress inks to create my background.  Spritzed and added die.  Pretty easy but when I attached to card base I didn't like the way the white looked so I removed the image and used the same silver embossing powder on the sides of the card base and then re-attached the image.

Failed! I tend to go crazy and cannot use only a few markers.  So here is my coloring for the day.  Was trying for iridescence on the birds.  The right image is on laser printer paper the left is Copic X-Press it paper.  The laser jet is fine for practice.

ONLINE CARD CLASSES: STRETCH YOUR STAMPS 2

What a great first day of class! Everyone's cards were so beautiful that I wanted to try ALL the techniques and right away and even on the same card! (not).  Anyhoo, I decided to try the emboss/watercolor technique that Kristina used.  I had a somewhat different background stamp but it is not totally dissimilar in style so I thought it would work well.  I loved the colors so much that I decided to leave the image whole and not trim it down.  I die cut the "Love" die from Simon Says Stamps twice out of three matching colored scrap papers and glued together just fractionally offset.  Top layer spritzed with Heidi Swapp Color Shine.

The hearts were left over from another project and I was thinking a little rhinestone would have worked on one of them but I forgot to add it.

HERO ARTS MI CASA STAMP

I had so much fun with this Hero Arts Stamp.

I stamped the whole image on old plaid card stock and on plain white cardstock.

I colored with copics and layered the windows, door and roof.  The door was then highlighted with Glossy Accents and a silver pearl used as the handle.

It turned out to be a very cheerful card but as usual for me, hard to photograph well.

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM MAMMOTH

I didn't get to post on Monday, sorry for the late Christmas wishes.  We are having a very white winter in Mammoth Lakes and this morning's weather was sunny, snowy, windy, cloudy.  This darling little bird was pecking at a tree in the backyard for quite a while.  I still have cards to send out (how awfully delayed) and didn't post my assembly line cards so will today.  Hope everyone is having a healthy and safe holiday.
