RAINBOW CARD CHALLENGE - WINNIE & WALTER SO TWEET CARD AND ONESIE

I love this Winnie & Walter stamp and since two of my co-workers are pregnant I knew it would get immediate use. I stamped in Simon Intense Black Ink on Neenah Solar white 110 lbs. using my MISTI to help with the masking.  That was a challenge, deciding on the birds position and then stamping and masking accordingly.  Thanks again MISTI !  I colored with copic markers which have been ignored lately in favor of watercolors and used the sentiment from the stamp set.  I mounted the panel on MFT stone gray cardstock

One of my favorite way to make a gift totally unique and special is to make a matching onesie using transfer paper (Avery).  I love the all cotton onesies that I get on Amazon and I copy and print the card on that in order to iron onto the onesie.  Really fun!  I hope you like this card and onesie and give it a try yourself.  

The little onsie looks very dark here and that is something you need to watch out for but it actually isn't as dark as it appears.

ONLINE CARD CLASSES CLEAN AND SIMPLE DAY 4

Today's class was chocked full of ideas that I wanted to try.  Wow Ladies, you out did yourselves.  The first technique was the double embossing paste that Jocelyn Olson demonstrated.  Rather than watercolors, I first mixed my embossing paste with a few drops of Worn Lipstick re-inker and applied it over Simon Says Tiny Dots stencil over a pale pink cardstock from my stash.  After that was dry, I used translucent embossing paste over Crafter's Workshop mini climbing vine stencil just at the bottom.  Of course  I had no plan when I started this but was thinking of some kind of baby card.   I realized when all the embossing was dry that I wanted to add a colored image to the card and chose Penny Black Bundle of Joy since it was a framed image.  I did a quick, simple coloring using Copics and Wink of Stella clear on the pink flowers.  I then tried two additional techniques.  I covered a piece of the same card stock with the same mix of embossing paste and distress ink, let it dry and then ran it through my Big Shot with Serendipity Baby die.  This didn't work at all, even though it was dry, it stuck and pulled away from the embossing paste.  So I cut it again and then applied the embossing paste.  Also not easy on such a small piece.  But it worked.
The image and the die are applied with dimensional tape.

ANOTHER PTI MAKE IT MONDAY CHALLENGE # 193

So much fun to make a baby card after all the Christmas cards.  I used a variety of pigment inks to blend the background of the card and even used them to color the train stamp from Lawn Fawn.  The PTI hearts were cut from a ruined spare background. I just love the way the pigment inks blend together.  

MO MANNING BABY CARD AND ONESIE

This was my second card and iron on transfer onesie.  They really are my favorite way to make a baby gift and pretty darn easy to do.  I love Mo Manning's images and this is her "Late".  Such a cute bunny with his big floppy ears.  Colored with Copics and iron on transferred to the onesie. The sentiment was cut from a 12 x 12 sheet of vellum sentiments that was from my stash and mounted with brads.  The technique for this is to color your image, save it to your computer and then you can print it on to the onesie.  You can see that I haven't managed to "flip" my image so it is the reverse of the original.  Next time.

This is a little washed out but you can see how big you can make the image.

PIXIE DUST ARK BABY CARD

My Niece had her baby in June and here it is almost the end of August and I have just now finished the card and the present.  When I started the card in June  I wanted to see if I could get the image into the Cameo so I wouldn't have to cut it by hand. I was able to do that but it was a process( for a later blog).  I had also ordered some adorable onesies from Fab.com but they still haven't arrived!  So card not made, presents not sent.

Suzie McKenzie  had taken the digital image and colored it in PS and then printed it onto iron on transfer paper. Wow, make digi images into iron on images,  what a great idea!  My problem was that I had already colored the image with Copics and had no idea how to use Photoshop elements to color like Suzi did.   So, I took a photo, edited it in PSE and then printed it onto the transfer paper. I used the erase tool to get rid of the background and did some color correction.  Then I printed and went to iron it on.   Lets just say the second one came out perfectly.  They don't tell you to CUT AROUND the image....

Well it is finally done and I am so happy with how it came out.  Thank you Suzi  for your great idea!

I will use this idea again as it really isn't too difficult and it is such a personal gift.

            I changed the roof to thatch and used Copics and Copic        
Multiliners.  There are so many colors in the roof
but it is hard to tell from my photo. 
 I double backed the giraffe head so he wouldn't get damaged.

The papers are all from my stash as is the button.  
The natural twine in the button is May Arts.

Penny Black Double the Trouble Challenge

Well this is a first for me, my very first challenge and I hope you like it.  I

colored the image with Copics first (while I was vacationing in Mammoth)

 and then had to match the papers when I got home.  I was lucky in

having the Basic Grey Kissing Booth Paper which picked up the

colors nicely.
