ONLINE CARD CLASSES: WATERCOLOR FOR CARD MAKERS, INTERMEDIATE TECHNIQUES

Sunday, January 31, 2016

Have you fallen in love with this class yet? I have, but what a challenge.  On day three Dawn's video on negative painting just blew me away and I just had to try. I didn't have a leaf stamp so I chose an older floral with leaves but I think the image was too complicated and it turned into a hot mess and I completely lost the image.  I watched the video 3-4 more times and opted for a simpler image.  Moderate success but I am definitively NOT a natural (I think I like coloring in the lines too much!)

Color a little off in photo and I couldn't quite get it adjusted in Photoscape.

FIRST TRY WAS A HOT MESS!

OCC WATERCOLORS FOR CARDMAKERS: INTERMEDIATE

Wednesday, January 27, 2016

If you haven't signed up for this class and you have any desire to use watercolors on your cards or just want to learn some new techniques, I can't recommend this class enough.  Dawn Woleslagle from Wplus9  is not only an artist but a wonderful teacher.  Most importantly, this class is FUN! For the first day I wanted to try the pears but didn't have a pear stamp so I hand drew a pear on craft board, cut it out and used it as a template.
I had so much fun with the pears but those darn leaves gave me all kinds of trouble.  Gotta work on that brush technique!  One thing to note, I was uses Arches Aquarelle hot pressed paper, 140 lb but when I laid down color it looked like the paper was pilling. However, when the color dried it did dry even and flat.
